New Orleans area home sales on the rise as confidence returns
Considered to be excellent news some reports show that home
sales have increased in the New Orleans area. At the same time the
prices have dropped. Interest rates are also low and it is expected that they
will continue to be low this year as stated by the Mortgage Bankers
Association. All of these events have also been conected with the fall in
umployment rates in New Orleans and the addition of new jobs in the New Orleans
Metropolitan area. Even though these new developments are encouraging potential
buyers are still facing big problems such as low appraisals, qualifying for
loans and coming up with enough money for a down payment.

Mardi Gras Indian tribes, New Orleans police establish peace pact
This
year’s Mardi Gras Indians parade should go with less tension between Indians
and New Orleans Police Department. Few years ago NOPD arrested Indians or used
sirens lights to force them of the streets. It happened after Monday’s meeting
which took place in City Council’s Governmental Affairs Committee. There were
present Indian Chiefs and advocates, the mayor’s criminal-justice commissioner,
James Carter, and every NOPD district commander. Chiefs from both sides left
the meeting hopefully but circumspectly. This year will be a good one for
Indians who travel the streets chanting and drumming while visiting places of
honor and engaging in elaborate games of hide-and-seek.

Super Bowl 2012 adds.
Super Bowl season just finished so everybody was really
excited for the big game, not just because the New England Patriots were
playing against the New York Giants, some people might think that the best part
are the adds, they are designed in a special way so that they can attract
people’s eye in second, because they are also the most expensive adds you can
ever see, but at least they are worth every penny. There is also a competition
after every super bowl where people can vote on their favorite adds so that’s
pretty interesting too.

NOLA from your bike
The League of American Bicyclists is organizing a list of 10 U.S. cities with the largest number of bicycling community. New Orleans is on the 6th place. Because of that huge community there is organized photo contest "NOLA from your bike". The main idea of this contest is to show people how NOLA looks from the bikers perspective and also to show how big this community is. I think is great idea because we can learn this way a lot about this beautiful city.

Mass hysteria rare, but
more often seen in girls
A recent report has showed
that teenage girls are high risk to suffer from mass hysteria or conversion
disorder. There are numerous case reports of this condition that seems to be
precipitated by stress, and stress-related conditions and presents with
seizures, tics, and other neurological manifestations. On these reports no
physical explanation was found after extensive investigation. Once the first
person or “index case” starts with symptoms then it gets spread to other people
who manifest “symptoms’ subconsciously. Further research is needed to establish the cause of this disorder.
