Superdome signage taken to new heights

The article “Superdome signage taken to new heights” by Doug MacCash is about all branding installations, including the roof in the Mercedez Bens superdome because of the NCAA basketball tournament that begins on March 31. Meanwhile, Freemain said that the cost to install to install the roof branding is almost $350,000. Since October the new roof marking has been in the planning, and afterword the details of the high-altitude paint job will be finalized in time.

Is your child spending too much time on Facebook ?

You would probably ask yourself the question after the Facebook threat releases by an eight-grade student near Mandeville. He published many posts on Facebook threading to kill people , listing the survivors. He was of course arrested . The sheriff took the threat very seriously. In the usa, teenagers struggle with bullying everyday and most of them end up committing suicide.

Everyone should know that posting meanny comments on a social network should be subject to criminal sanctions.

Sean Payton's absence will hurt, but Saints are brimming with qualified head coaching candidates

The Saints are looking for the best couch to manage the team. like everyone know Sean Payton was fired because the scandal. There are two groups, the first group are the Chicken Little group a largely disconsolate bunch who think the world has ended and the season is destroyed. And there is the Alfred E. Neuman contingent, who believe  everything is OK and the team will rally around the cause. The good news is the Saints are well equipped to handle the situation.I'm pretty sure that the are going to do a good decision. Although everyone are going to see how the Saints resolve the problem. Let's go DAT!!!

Sweet Sweet Sweet. New Bakery shop

http://www.nola.com/food/index.ssf/2012/03/new_bakery_pure_cake_has_opene.html

Everyone needs something sweet in their lives. Recently, a bakery shop opened red-hot Freret Street. This bakery is really famous because is not like any other that has cupcakes, they sell pure cake. As delicious as it sounds, it is also good to mention that the prices are affordable for everyone and that every single thing that is sold here is made from scratch. It is also not only about their cake but also about the cookies. So I think this is a good excuse to try something new.

'Free Sean Payton' Shirts

The whole city of Louisiana is talking about the same thing, Sean Payton suspended for one year. Today the NFL announced that The Saints have no longer a head coach. As the news where being heard around the city, the media started to move quickly, and different stores quickly created a design of a shirt that said ‘Free Sean Payton’ or ‘Free Payton’ and the reporters said that they have never seen something being sold as fast as this shirts. We can now easily see that the citizens are pissed off with the news and don’t think that the NFL made the right decision.

The food that was in the altars was made days before by volunteers with a lot of enthusiasm. People visited the houses and thanked St Joseph and the homeowners sometimes gave things to those who visited their houses.

Rising oil prices ---- Speculators blamed for higher gas prices by some in Congress

http://www.nola.com/business/index.ssf/2012/03/keystone_xl_pipeline_proposal.html

Under the high prices of oil, will be building a pipeline 1,700-mile by a Canadian company. This line carries oil from Canada tar sands region in Alberta to Central America. Under the high prices of oil and responding the members of Congress for tried to help people from high prices of oil. The high price of oil up rose from $77.51 to $110.55 in recent days. Because of large rise of the oil the United States of America should be getting another ways to get oil for another country his oil. Canada is one of the closer countries to America. That closes help United States of America and Canada exchange commercial of goods and oil. First of all countries have oil-producing  prevent high crude oil prices must help another countries  to oil-consuming countries to buy this oil and help to stop this expensive of this oil cost a lot of money and make some countries under  pressure of this very high of using the oil . I agree the request of the countries to reduce the price of this precious of oil. Especially that is no country capable of give up the using the oil. Industrialized countries have to increase oil production in the oil and decrease the rise in crude oil prices. This increase affects the factories and cars, from that increase makes people how think to buy a car with large engine stop buy this car and try to find another car with small engine just to save some money or protect themselves from this high oil prices. This think or this fact makes the big car company loss of some money and makes some people or worker loss jobs. Big Countries must be considered for this problem and solve it and try to find act to solve it .

Who has the best po-boy

“Who has the best po-boy”
By Helena Posada

One of the most controversial topics here in New Orleans is “who has the best po-boy in town”. This has been one of the most popular centers of attention.

A po-boy is a typical submarine sandwich from Louisiana. The name was created in 1929 by Bennie and Clovis Martin It seems like an appetizer and it is served in a baguette, which is denominated Louisiana French bread. This bread is similar from a French baked bread and it is crusty in the outside and tastes like cotton candy on the inside. The ingredients are normally seafood or fish batter, or meat. It also includes mayonnaise and ketchup, and often carries lettuce, tomato and pickle.

Restaurants here in New Orleans are always trying their best to be the best place to eat po-boys. The battle between who has the best po-boy in town has lasted many years. There have been many places in the competition but only two restaurants are the ones with the best reputation. Those two restaurants are fighting to see which one is the best making this local and typical food. These two po-boy shops are located one block apart from each other in the city’s Irish Channel neighborhood.

In one side, there is Parasol’s, a po-boy pit stop that was founded in 1952, and was recently purchased by transplant from St. Petersburg. In the other side there’s Tracey’s, an apparently new restaurant opened last September. These two places have changed owners recently and they don’t get along really well.

There is a big drama, which was started before Mardi Gras, about who is the best cooking this delicious dish, everybody has always something to say about this. Since Parasol’s has a new owner, people started speculating that this place is “an impostor” and that “the real deal” is Tracey`s.

In a certain way, this fighting is affecting business. There is a lot of confrontation between the two owners of the restaurants and this has created a bad feeling in the neighborhood population. This fight has become more personal between people. They are taking different sides and also supporting different things.

This fight has become more about the owners than from who has the best po-boy. There is no denying that both places have good po-boys but have been diverting a little of what really matters, giving place to personal fights. These problems must be left behind so with this the important issue will be solved.

Are charter schools a good option for New Orleans?

The issue of whether a charter school outperforms a public school is still under intensive debate in the country. New Orleans is a very specific case where due to the high percentage of charter schools dominating the educational system its results may be affected compared to the national average. Nationally, charter schools appear to marginally do better in certain areas (math and reading) than traditional public schools. In many other areas charter schools underperform when compared to the traditional public school system.  In the case of New Orleans. One recent report mentioned that out 46 charter schools in New Orleans, 23 outperformed traditional public schools’ performance.
This debate has two faces. On one hand advocates of the charting school system who claim its success based on performance indicators and apparent a more “motivated” student system. Innovation also seems to be a factor claimed by these groups. Freedom of educational techniques, an increased teacher satisfaction, apparent less cost to the public funding school system represents some of the advantages of this educational system.
On the other hand critics of the charting system mention difficulties such as accountability, student profiling, fragmentation of the public education system, seclusion of low performers, and maybe use of inappropriate markers of student success
In my opinion, a thorough re-organization of the education system is needed. Charter schools were chosen as an alternative and appear to perform better but long- term success indicators have not been examined, Short-term performance scores may not be the answer in the specific case of New Orleans. I strongly believe that a clear demarcation of a line between public and private systems will be beneficial; a clear definition of what we men by public educational system may be the start of a new alternative.  Re-organization of resources such as money, grants, based on a well-defined long-term educational plan may be also a way to start. Finally, better performance measures that are adapted to the reality of New Orleans and its needs have to be explored.
